Emma Moloney has been appointed General Counsel and a member of the News UK Executive. Emma had been fulfilling the role of Interim General Counsel since September 2014, and prior to that she led News UK’s commercial legal affairs team.
Mike Darcey, CEO of News UK, said: "Emma has been doing an excellent job in the role of Interim General Counsel. She is responsible for all legal matters relating to the company covering editorial, compliance and commercial activity. Her role will be vital in fulfilling our aim to become the best-governed media company in the world."
New Zealand-born Emma has a wealth of experience across media companies, including Sky and National Geographic Channel, where she was General Counsel. She has also held positions at several legal firms including Axiom, where her client engagements included Amazon, Sky and G4S, and Allens in Australia where she worked on the launch of pay TV channel, Foxtel.
